Ever since the attacks on Paris, I’ve been suffering from a bit of anxiety. The best way I can describe it is a dark spot bubbling just under the surface of my daily life. I try not to talk about it much, because I’ve got my life to live, my daily chores to chore, and I don’t need anything else adding to the stress.
But I find myself compulsive going to Facebook to see what people are talking about, and I’m realizing now, it’s because your voices help calm me. The stories you share, regardless of if I agree with their opinions, help me breath information. I need it to survive. Thanks for sharing!
Humanity is facing one of the most complex enemies it has ever faced with ISIS. I’m saddened to see so much finger pointing. Keep those fingers aimed at the real enemy. I’m saddened to see knee jerk reactions to, as Trump says, “Bomb them all”. If only it were that simple. I’m saddened that so many of us are so scared that we are considering turning our backs on the refugees. That’s ridiculous. We’ve been accepting thousands of refugees since 9/11. Let’s keep business as usual.
The best thing we can do is breath information. Let’s learn more about what’s happening in the Middle East, in Europe, and in Africa. Let’s step outside of our usual political comfort zone and see things in a different light. Let’s stick together, and not fight amongst ourselves, and learn, learn, learn.
Here are some of my favorite posts that you’ve all shared recently:

I share your anxiety, but to fight it I actually found myself doing the exact opposite of what you did. I’ve tried to stay away from Social Networks, at least for the first few days following the accident. It helped me.
I find myself sticking to only a few information sources (like your post 🙂 ) to get the details I need, and it’s helped a bit.
