My thought for today applies to the WordPress.org plugin directory, and it’s pretty simple: If you use it, rate it.
If you’ve found a plugin that has made your life as a website developer easier, you should take a few moments to rate and review the plugin. If you’ve had a disastrous or even just a mediocre experience with a plugin, rate it. The WordPress community is set up so that your voice matters. You can help a budding new plugin reach the masses with either positive or constructive feedback.
Today I had a chance to look over the sites I’ve worked on in the past 2 years, and I was abashed at how little feedback I’ve left for the many great (and not-so-great) plugins I’ve installed. I’m starting a small mission to rate and review the tools that have helped me through my work day. I hope the tool makers can appreciate it. Better late than never, as the saying goes.
